Tequila-Champagne Sangria

3 medium navel oranges, sliced into thin rounds

4 medium lemons, sliced into thin rounds

4 medium limes, sliced into thin rounds

6 large fresh mint leaves

1/2 cup light agave nectar (or simple syrup)

3 fl. oz. (6 Tbs.) plata (silver) tequila

1 750-ml bottle dry white wine, chilled

1 750-ml bottle sparkling wine, chilled

2 cups lemon-lime soda

Put the oranges, lemons, limes, and mint in a large plastic container. Pour the agave nectar over the fruit. Add the tequila and mix gently. Add the white wine, cover, and let the mixture marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours.

Put the fruit mixture in a large drink dispenser or divide among 2 large pitchers. Top off with the sparkling wine and the lemon-lime soda.

the last six days were amazing. we hiked the most beautiful parks in upstate New York, we wine tasted at some of the coolest wineries, and we spent time with his family. it was relaxing, it was romantic, and I got to spend some real quality time with my best friend.

coming back to the real world was stupid. I already miss him so much and I hate that we are going to go at least another three months of this stupidness. long distance relationships like this blow. I am not going to lie and say it’s easy because it’s not- my heart hurts. I feel awful and empty and sad (kind of like a drug addict coming down from a high). I’ll get back into routine eventually and the pain will dull again, but right now- missing him and remembering what it feels like to be together is so fresh.

he’s my happy place. and I want him back.

Took my second soul cycle class today. It’s good workout and all, but the atmosphere is a little terrifying. The people who are into it are SO INTO IT it’s almost off putting. Also, our instructor kept shouting, “I love you!” during the class and that was a little strange. I’m all for inspirational yoga talk but that went a little too far.

But its a good workout and the music is really great. That’s about the extent of it. It’s a fun class to incorporate into your workout routine, nothing more… nothing less. Also, side note, its kind of cool how SoulCycle classes in LA are considerably cheaper than SoulCycle NY— I feel like im getting a deal.

Workout classes should be placed into time capsules. When we look back at our society in 50 years, we’ll have things like Pure Barre (which, despite it being a damn good workout, I find strange) and SoulCycle.

It’s funny because I used to be all about the workout classes..yoga, bikram, spin…you name it, I was there 4 times a week. Now I’m all about getting outside (running, cycling, skiing)…I think this has 100% to do with stress. I never realized how calming it coud be to just get outside and run for 30 minutes along the water.

Oh I’m all about classes too, I used to hate them! Being injured forced me inside and now I really like spin. Body Pump too! I’m already scoping out future gyms by their class selection.

you know what else is relaxing and/or a good way to deal with stress? T.V. and chocolate. i know. i’m brilliant.
